The Office for Autism has been established to work towards improved outcomes for Autistic and autism communities. This is just the beginning of South Australia's journey towards autism inclusion and to support knowledge building and understanding.
To support the delivery of the SA Autism Inclusion Charter, the Office for Autism provides free training activities and resources.
Free Public Training
Freely available, this Autism awareness eLearning program provides foundational information about autism and neurodiversity for the
broader South Australian community.
The modules are:
- Introduction to neurodiversity
- Introduction to autism
- Communicating for inclusion
Each module will take approximately 25 minutes to complete.
Developed by Autistic people, this eLearning program is built on extensive consultation with the Autistic and autism community, and is based on current research and information.
Free Government Training
Autism Awareness and Understanding Training – working with Autistic colleagues
Available to all Government of South Australia employees, this training provides an introduction to autism in the work place.
The training covers the following:
- What is autism?
- Myths and facts
- Autistic strengths
- Strategies for inclusion
The training is one hour in length, and includes opportunities to ask questions.
Presented by an Autistic facilitator, this training has been developed through extensive consultation with the Autistic and autism community, and is based on current research and information.
This free training is available to employees of the Government of South Australia, either in person or online.

Do you manage Autistic staff? The Office for Autism provides support to managers to review workspaces and information on how to make appropriate workplace adjustments for Autistic staff.
